Crossfire Mission:

"to be a hospitable, Christ-Centered community"

Crossfire Values

Hospitality

“Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God" I Peter 4:9-10 (NKJV)

At Crossfire Church, hospitality is more than a checklist of something to do, such as smiling at people as they walk in the door. instead, real hospitality is openness, authenticity, realness; it's knowing that you are welcome and that people are genuinely glad to see you.. You don't have to be told a place is hospitable - you know  whether or not it is hospitable or not the moment you walk in.

From the very beginning, hospitality has been part of who we are. It was never a strategy; it was simply our particular personality as a church. We usually would rather share stories over a plate of red beans and rice than run another program, because connection happens best in the homes, around tables, people doing life together.

Our goal is that every person who walks through our doors — whether it’s their first time or their fiftieth — feels like they’ve come home. Because when people feel seen, loved, and known, they catch a glimpse of the heart of God

Community

“Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common.… they continued daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.” Acts 2:44–47 (NKJV)

Real community isn’t built by trying to “be a community.” That rarely works. Authentic community happens when real people - from all different backgrounds, stories,  struggles - all gather around  the same cross.

There at the cross, each one of us lays down our pride, prejudice, superiority - all the things that  sour relationships. At the cross, we see that we are the same sinners, in need of the same Savior; and this fills us with the same gratefulness - gratefulness for His goodness, gratefulness for His blood that cleanses us from all sin. This is the basis for real community. It is the cross  (not our good intentions) that  brings us together.

For that reason, our gatherings revolve around Christ - from our small groups, dinner table conversations, ministry work, and parties.. We lift up Christ, and He draws us closer to Himself, and also to each other.— just like He promised.

Life-speaking

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.” — Ephesians 4:29 (NKJV)

At Crossfire Church, we believe words carry weight — they can either tear down or build up, curse or bless, wound or heal. That’s why we choose to speak life wherever we go.

Our goal is to be a community where people walk away encouraged, strengthened, and reminded of who they are in Christ.

We want to be the kind of church where you find out people are talking good behind your back — calling out your gifts, not your flaws.  Life speaking means we guard our words and use them to edify others, not to gossip or criticize.  Words either build up, or tear down. We choose to be builders.

Truth with Love

“…speaking the truth in love, we may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ.” — Ephesians 4:15 (NKJV)

At Crossfire Church, we believe Truth and Love are not opposites — they are part of the same thing. Real love requires truth, and real truth is always loving.

Love without truth isn’t loving at all; it’s dishonest and harmful. This kind of "love" allows people to drive off a cliff in order to spare their feelings. This isn't loving. On the other hand, truth without love isn’t truthful either. When “truth” is spoken from arrogance or pride, it becomes a weapon that tears down instead of a tool that builds up.

We are committed to speaking the truth  across the board, in whatever issues it touches, wherever it might land. But we are equally committed to doing so with a heart of grace, humility, and genuine care for people.  At Crossfire, we believe the church should be a place where hard truths are spoken boldly, from a place of humility.  Ultimately,  truth without love won’t actually help, and love without truth can't save.

Christ-Centered

“He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.”
— Colossians 1:17 (NKJV)

If a fish tries to live outside the water, he will die – fish are made for the water. It is a hard fact of life, an unbendable reality. Another hard fact is that Christ is the center of all things.. It’s not that we try to make Him the center, He IS in fact, the center of all of life. He is the point of our life. We revolved around Him, not the other way around.

We can either work with this reality, or be broken against it, like the fish out of water.  If we try to make something else the center of our life, such as other people, our careers, our ministry, or ourselves, then our lives will wither.

At Crossfire Church, we strive to organize the church around the reality that Christ is the point and center of all of life. Therefore, we put Him first in our services; we put Him first in our personal lives, small groups, and ministry teams. Our desire is simple: that in everything we do, people would see, hear, and encounter Christ at the center.

People-Building

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you also are doing.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NKJV)

At Crossfire Church, we’re not in the business of building programs or protecting structures — we’re in the calling of building people. Our organization exists to serve people; we never use people to serve an organization. We value relationships over systems and growth that starts in hearts before it shows up on spreadsheets.

We believe in people over projects.  Ministries, events, and teams are simply tools to help people know God, grow in faith, and become strong families that reflect His love. When people flourish, the church naturally flourishes.

Our goal is simple: to see men, women, and children become who God designed them to be — whole, equipped, and thriving. Because buildings and programs fade, but people built on Christ last forever. “My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you.” Galatians 4:19

Mission First

Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”
— Colossians 3:23 (NKJV)

This value speaks especially to our staff and volunteers. At Crossfire Church, we believe that serving God isn’t something to check off a list — it’s part of our calling. It’s woven into both our individual and corporate purpose. Whether we’re leading from the platform, serving coffee, or caring for kids, everything we do is ultimately for the Lord and for the advancement of His Kingdom. As we use our gifts and talents to serve, we remember that our abilities were given to us, but they are not ultimately for us. God gave us gifts so that we could minister to others.

That means when we serve, we hold two things in mind: we take the mission very seriously — but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We are simply vessels; it’s the mission that matters most.

We’re not seeking recognition or applause; we’re seeking faithfulness. Our goal is to honor God and fulfill His purposes with excellence and humility.  And what is our mission? To be a hospitable, Christ-centered community. As long as we’re doing our part to move in that direction, we can rest assured that everything else will work out in His timing.

After all, we’re not building a brand — we’re advancing the Kingdom. It’s not about me or you; it’s not even about Crossfire Church — it’s about Christ and His Church.
